I started this video game, and I’m finishing it.
I’m finishing come hell or high water.
I’m finishing in the face of rain, sleet or snow.
I’m finishing despite the weather service’s warning about an impending avalanche, tornado, tsunami and hurricane.
Meanwhile, an uncontrollable fire roars down the street, consuming all in its path. It doesn’t matter.
What’s worse, our neighbourhood just experienced a nuclear meltdown outside and the streets are empty.
And I’m thinking of other games I’d like to start playing now.
But I started this game, and I’m going to finish it before I start playing anything else.
Do you ever have the urge to start playing a second game before you’ve finished the first? How do you respond to this urge?

Yes, all the time! I have limited time to play video games, and for some reason I always think if I play two at once it’s somehow more time efficient (it’s not). Even if I start playing a second game, I usually wind up focusing on one more than the other, anyway, and then I’m completely confused by the one I play less. So I’ve pretty much stopped trying to play two games at once (at least until I can support myself by playing video games! haha).

Lol good one. I’m obsessed with one game at a time, but sometimes I’m tempted to give and start a second one.

I am actually quite controlled when it comes to that. I only buy one game at a time and only move on to the next one once I am finished with it.

I limit myself to one game per console at a time. I still end up putting games down for long periods of time unfortunately.

Ah per console… that’s an interesting way to do it. I have to play one game at a time though, even if I were to own multiple consoles — which I don’t.

My routine for the last 4 years has been to focus on starting three games and playing at various intervals. Whichever one I feel I’m the closest to beating, I’ll gradually focus on that one more. Lately, gaming leisure time has been scarce, and it’s been a while since I’ve completed a game, BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma was my latest, and that was about three months ago.

Three at once… that’s an interesting approach. Your approach would probably work for me too since I have little time to play. Still, I feel the need to finish one game at a time and complete everything in it.

Nuclear meltdown? I only need to get a Game Over and I am already looking for something else to play. My backlog of unfinished stuff is huge.

Yeah, I have laser-like focus on one game at a time. Nothing, even if I feel tempted to try something new, can derail me from beating the game. I have to beat it. I have to best it, especially if it’s wiping the floor with me.
