I can think of some worlds I would not want to be in. Witcher 3 and Dark Souls and Bloodborne! Too grim and your chance of success and happiness are very low. I would be tempted to choose a Nintendo world like Paper Mario which is whimsical and heroics always triumph. Another easy choice would be Kingdom Hearts since there are so many famous worlds and characters to visit. This was a fun question to think about. Thank you for sharing it!
Thank you for answering :). Anything with Mario would be wonderful. Those games are always, bright, beautiful and colorful. You know Mario will save the day, and you get to go along on a fun adventure.
I think Stardew Valley, definitely. Nice and safe and they have fun festivals all year round. Plus, it’s basically like living in a city, in terms of amenities and distance to things, but with like none of the people ๐
As big a fan as I am of the Shin Megami Tensei games, I definitely would not want to inhabit those apocalyptic hellscapes, so I have to say Skies of Arcadia.
Yes, apocalyptic games would scare me. Hmmm but death would lose some of its sting because we could respawn in most games. Perma death in an apocalyptic setting: now that would be scary in a game and in our own lives.
Oh man so many. If I had to pick just one though, I am going to have to go with the Mass Effect universe. I am so intrigued by space and I love anything Sci-Fi.
The Mass Effect games are some of my favorite games of all time. I even wrote a retrospective on them for my blog. The characters, world, stories, everything about that universe is just amazing.
Mass Effect 2 is probably my most played game of all time. It’s also one of my favourites. Would you mind living in a universe, though, with so much death and destruction?
There is quite a lot of depth and destruction, and a significant amount of it is due to different races fighting each other, but the story of Commander Shepard is an inspiring one.
Shepard united all the races to fight against a common enemy in order to save the future of all races. Maybe I would not like to live during the war periods, haha, but definitely after the era of the Reaper Wars.
This is actually a very interesting question. I’ve always wondered what life would be in Tetris. Yeah, I know. Of all the games I could think of, why did I think of Tetris. But hey it’s still a video game so basically it qualifies. However, I could not imagine what it’s like to inhabit that world. Live as a falling Tetriminos? Anyway, I love your hypothetical question.
I guess if the other pieces were people then you’d never be alone. But you’d never have privacy. The music could also getting annoying after a couple of years.
I’d love to live in the Animal Crossing universe. Imagine being in a village inhabited by animals where you pay off your mortgage by fishing and shaking fruit trees lol! It would be interesting for sure.

Sounds like a good choice. Although I really enjoy being alone, I still would miss my family and friends.

Minecraft. Because it would certainly be a very different experience. Houses that float in the air and enough resources to build anything?? Why not?!!
Of course thereโs monsters and lava…
