I really want to play these five PC video games:
1. Company of Heroes II
Why am I interested in a sequel if I never played the first game?
- The first game is one of the finest gems in the strategy video game mine.
- The series’ setting is WWII! You’d think I’d get sick of that war by now, but you’d be wrong.
- Also, since it’s a strategy game, it reminds me vaguely of XCOM. Oh, XCOM, how I love thee.
I bet a lot is riding on this game for publisher THQ. They’re having some tough times over there.

The steam engine changed train travel forever. Valve’s Steam service has changed the way I play video games.
With Steam, you don’t need to buy hard copies of games: you can just download them. Even better, you can look forward to big sales on the service.
Besides sales, what’s important when I want to download games? It’s great games and reliable downloads that matter most.
Rest assured, I had a good time both downloading and playing Orcs Must Die. A strategy game, Orcs Must Die was my first Steam download. It offers you the thrilling opportunity to scald orcs with vats of green goo. Continue reading

eam Fortress 2 is one of the best aging video games of all time.
After a year or two, most other games age poorly. That’s when the wrinkles, laugh lines and liver spots become obvious.
You might think those wrinkles sprung up out of nowhere one night. In fact, the sad truth is that those signs of aging were always there. The developers just covered up the fine lines with a smear of rouge known as fancy graphics. Continue reading

I’ve got to tell you how I came to like Halo: Reach and Jorge’s death.
Keep in mind that there are spoilers ahead.

Steam spewed out of my ears and my face turned beet red. I became incensed when my Xbox 360 got the three red rings and died last summer.
I vowed not to buy anything from Microsoft again. I refused to buy Halo: Reach when it came out in September 2010. “It’ll just be more of the same; that series doesn’t need more games,” I told myself.
But cracks started to appear in the fortress that was my resolve. And like a weak-willed addict, I just couldn’t fight the incessant cravings any more.

Sly Cooper is coming for your trash can.
I knew Sly Cooper 4 was coming to PS3. I could foresee it like a weather man predicting a bad storm. But I’d like to think that I’m one of the good weather men whose predictions are always right.
Anyway, to prepare myself, I sat down and played through all three 3 games in the Sly Cooper Collection. I didn’t do it all at once and still had enough energy to write.
So I put fingers to keys and started typing my impressions of each game. Then I put together a wish list of features that I hope will appear in Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time (Sly 4).
